Welcome to Cerebrum Exploration

Cerebrum Exploration (CE) was created by Gladys Newbury in effort to provide specialty care to the community. CE specializes in various mental health conditions such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and various mental health disorders. CE  provides caregiver counseling addressing issues surrounding caring for a loved one with a serious medical illness. CE also provides counseling for patients who are navigating medical concerns such as Multiple Sclerosis, post stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, ALS, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, Traumatic Brain injury, and cancer patients. At CE services vary from Psychotherapy services, caregiver counseling, and life coaching services.


CE mission is to provide therapy to adults, older adults, college students and professionals to enable each individual meet their personal growth. CE's mission is to provide highest quality care  in a caring environment. 


Psychotherapy services 


Psychotherapy services is  a one on one counseling session with a Licensed Clinician to address mental health symptoms, process trauma, identify triggers, learn new coping skills, and help you decrease your symptoms to live a quality life. Psychotherapy utilizes various evidence base approaches that may include, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Treatment session duration, frequency, and duration vary from person to person. Your treatment plan  is established by you and the clinician depending on your treatment goal.  You are not alone. There are many people struggling alone, but you don't have to. CE is here to help you walk with you through you healing journey.

Gladys is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with broad range of skills and experiences. Gladys has many years of experience in Geriatric care, medical settings, and Veteran care. Her background is working with individuals with medical complications such as Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Neurological conditions, chronic pain, and cancer patients. Moreover, Gladys also works with caregivers of older adults and individuals with serious medical illnesses, older adults with medical complications. Her clinical therapeutic techniques consist of, but not limited to CBT, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, and lifestyle modification.

  • Psychotherapy is a one on one counseling session with a Licensed Clinician to help you resolve mental health symptoms. Psychotherapy utilizes various evidence based approaches to address your mental health symptoms and meet your treatment goals.   
  • Cerebrum Exploration is not an in-network Provider for any insurance plan. If requested, CE can provide you with a superbill that you may want to submit to your insurance company. 
  • CE Professional fees is $180 for diagnostic evaluation (60 minutes) and Follow up appointment are $150 (45 minutes)   
  • CE utilizes various evidence based approaches, which include but not limited to:

    • Visual counseling for mental health services, also known as tele-therapy or online therapy, is a process where individuals receive psychological support, therapy, or counseling services through digital platforms rather than in person sessions.

Is Therapy confidential?
    • In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a patient and psychotherapist. Information is not disclosed without your permission. However, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality. 
    • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, if patient is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, or if a client has intentions to hurt self or others.
